Pit bull attacks kids at school bus stop

SOUTH CAROLINA -- Two people face charges after animal control say a pit bull attacked kids at a school bus stop.

Animal Control Officers say the dog attacked a five and ten year old Friday afternoon on Mirabelle Court in Spartanburg County.

The ten year old was bitten twice and had to go to the hospital. Morgan Orr had to get multiple stitches and her mother Jeniffer Metzger said the bite marks were the size of a quarter, one to two inches deep.

"I thought i was going to die," said one of the victims Morgan Orr.

Officers say the dog was on the loose and the owners will be charged. The owners Michael Lewis and Ebony Macintyre

7 on your side asked the director of the Spartanburg County Environmental Enforcement Department what the rules are for keeping you pets outside.

They said Spartanburg County has a leash law where the pets must be on the owners property at all times but they don't have to be chained.

Off the property they must be on a leash.

We contacted the owners of the pit bull who say they have taken the proper steps to keep their dog on the property but he got loose.

Metzger says the pit bull should be put down.

"For a dog to come out like that when these kids walk by there every day for years now all of the sudden the dog is mauling her like this...the concern is rbbies," said Metzger.

The dog is at the humane society.
