Pit bulls impounded for running loose, killing cat

CALIFORNIA -- Yolo County Animal Services impounded two pit bulls Thursday morning for running loose and killing a cat in Woodland.

According to a news release from Vicky Fletcher, chief animal services officer, a tan and white pit bull mix and a black and white pit bull mix had been seen in the vicinity of West Woodland Avenue, North West Street, West Beamer Street and Mariposa Street.

The dogs were involved in one documented case of killing a cat and Animal Services officers working this case were provided information that there may be other victims.

"We are requesting anyone who may have encountered these dogs or that can provide additional information regarding this incident contact Animal Services as soon as possible," Fletcher said.
