Albany man in hospital after pit bull chase

GEORGIA -- An Albany man is at Phoebe Putney Hospital Thursday morning, after being chased by two Pit Bulls. 29-year-old Quentin Willis had a bruised hip from falling while being chased.

Willis actually called 911 and told them he was being attacked. But after police showed up, they found out he was "just" chased.

This started when Willis got off work from Krystal just after 4 Thursday morning. As he was walking home, he spotted two loose pit bulls on West Broad and started to run.

We're told by cops he fell down and hurt his hip, and the dogs just kept going. Willis was taken by EMS to Phoebe Putney Hospital.

Although he was not attacked, APD tells us the dogs were very aggressive. Officers had the dogs surrounded in the 100 block of North Davis for several minutes.

Someone familiar with the dogs came and put them in a holding [pen] until animal control arrived.

We're working to find out who owns the dogs and how they escaped.
