Everyone outside of Chatham County, GA, beware!

GEORGIA -- Oreo, the 60-pound pet dog who allegedly bit a neighbor’s child, will be banned from Chatham County for the rest of his life under an agreement approved today.

Chatham County Superior Court Judge Louisa Abbot approved the agreement which also calls for The Lexus Project Inc, to have the dog neutered by a local veterinary clinic and placed with a rescue agency and/or animal shelter outside of Chatham County.

In return, Chatham County officials will forego any administrative or judicial proceedings concerning the dog or label him in any manner that would prevent him from being adoptable in the future.

They also agreed not to put him at risk of euthanasia and to waive the boarding fees for the dog from Jan. 29 untiil he is neutered and placed outside of Chatham County.

The Lexus Project, which is now the owner of the animal, had sued the Savannah-Chatham Animal Control and two of its officers, contending the removal of the dog was illegal.

Today’s order eliminates the need for any further administrative or court action in the case, including an attempt to have the dog designated as a "dangerous animal."

Oreo, described in court documents as a “full-blooded American bull dog,” allegedly bit 6-year-old Gabrielle Barlow on Jan. 29. The victim apparently was in the dog’s fenced back yard at 4 Hopeton Court where the victim allegedly played with his dog food on front of him, according to court documents.

The dog’s owners, Patricia and Michael Wooten, have since given the animal to The Lexus Project Inc. under a trust agreement.

A pit bull rescue group posted this photo of Oreo, which was adopted by this guy. I hope he doesn't have kids.
