CALIFORNIA -- Police and animal control officers used tranquilizer darts to subdue two large pit bulls who attacked a pedestrian in the Valley Hi area Friday, police reported.
A 21-year-old victim was walking in the area of Valley Hi Drive and Franklin Boulevard around 9 p.m., when the two dogs attacked, inflicting severe but non-life-threatening injuries to his extremeties, according to the Sacramento Police Department activity log.
Police and animal control officers tracked the dogs and located a male and female pit bull, reportedly 120 and 80 pounds, respectively.
The owner of the dogs was not located and the dogs were impounded.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.
