VIRGINIA - Two girls bitten by a dog earlier this week remain in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A third girl was released after being treated for injuries to her chest.
Witnesses told police the two youngest girls reached down towards the dog's collar just before it bit them Wednesday evening in Manassas.
The 7-year-old girl is being treated for injuries to her eye, while the 10-year-old is being treated for injuries to her face and nose. The 12-year-old victim was released the same day.
The owner of the black Lab mix was cited for not having a city dog license and allowing the dog to run at large.
The dog is in isolation at a local animal shelter. Its fate has not been determined.
