3 children, 2 adults attacked when dogs get loose in Va. Beach

VIRGINIA -- Five people, including three children, were bitten by pit bulls that escaped from a house in Virginia Beach.

"I'm too embarrassed to see anybody and I started crying and now I'm too scared and they took the dog away," said 10-year-old Michael Jones, one of the victims.

7-year-old Jamari Love required plastic surgery and more than 100 stitches.


"The dog just came running and bit me," he told 13News.

An adult was bitten while trying to fend off the dogs, which also bit their owner.

Markivia Bailey says her son and daughter were playing football in a park Friday on Manor Glenn Court when the dogs attacked.

Another child who was playing with them had been bitten by one of the dogs six weeks ago.

Keiki Perkins, one of the dogs' owners, told 13News she was sorry for what happened. On Monday, she was getting gifts ready to take to the victims.


 Detective Tonya Borman says the three dogs got out when the owner opened the door around 6:20 p.m.

The dogs were seized by Animal Control' charges against the owner are pending for for Dog at Large and Dangerous Dog.
