Police track down cowardly dog owner

WASHINGTON -- Clarkston police have located the owner of a large "pit-bull type" dog reportedly involved in a recent attack on a Pomeranian at Chestnut Beach.

Officer Mike Babino said the 30-year-old Clarkston man was cooperative when contacted.

[Well of course he was 'cooperative'. He is a coward who fled with his dog. He was tracked down and confronted by a police officer carrying a gun on his side.]

He will be cited for the dog-bite incident and faces a potential fine of $250 and restitution costs, police said. The misdemeanor charge will be handled in Asotin County District Court.

The vet bill for the Pomeranian was $428, according to police. The small dog's owner was on a walk with her baby when the attack occurred shortly after 5 p.m. on April 3.
