Two Utica Residents Facing Animal Cruelty Charges

NEW YORK -- Two people are facing animal cruelty charges after Utica Police were called to a home on Flagg Avenue.

A resident had called the Mayor’s office to complain about a smell coming from the backyard of the home.

Police say they found a cage in the backyard containing several mink.

They say one was dead and the other animals all showed signs of neglect.

54-year old Suzanne Evans and 49-year old Carl Seldin are facing five counts each of torturing and injuring animals.

The animals were turned over to Judy Cusworth of the Woodhaven Wildlife Rehab.
