Friday charges were finally filed against the dog's owner and those charges should be a wake up call for all responsible dog owners in Cleveland.
RIP little Paco |
Misdemeanor charges filed are of little consolation to Tavette Mynatte, who saw her beloved dog Paco killed right before her eyes in the jaws of another dog.
"That was my baby boy," said Tavette Mynatte.
The dog who killed Paco belongs to Minnie Johnson and Minne could be in a lot of trouble.
"I've never had a problem like this before, never ever," said Minnie Johnson.
According to a new Cleveland Ordinance passed last June Minne's dog could be classified as a Level Two threat if it was unprovoked and killed another pet while off the leash.
After the fatal bite Minnie didn't even offer an apology, and today she still doesn't feel responsible.
"I am sorry but I was not there. It was not my fault," said Minnie Johnson.
But that doesn't matter, the owner is still liable and if found guilty she must make some expensive property changes as well as buying $100,000 in liability insurance.
Seventy-one-year old Tavette Mynatt is having a tough time her with cancer and it's made even tougher by the death of her little pal, Paco.
