CALIFORNIA -- A young girl walking to school in Lakeside was chased by three dogs and was bitten in the calf Wednesday morning.
According to authorities, the girl was walking to Lakeview Elementary School around 8:45 a.m. when she was chased by a Labrador, a German shepherd mix and a Chihuahua.
A man driving by saw the girl being attacked and pulled the dogs off of her. He was bitten as he helped the girl, authorities said.
The man carried the girl to the school office, where she was treated by school health officials for several puncture wounds. She was then taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
According to San Diego County Animal Control, the dogs apparently got out from a backyard near the school. 10News learned Animal Control officers arrived at the home and took the two larger dogs away.
The two larger dogs will be quarantined.
