When firefighters arrived they found heavy smoke permeating the house from the back bedroom, Garden Grove fire Battalion Chief Chuck Green said. About 20 Anaheim and Garden Grove firefighters were at the scene.

Sage, a black Labrador, got out of the house while firefighters rescued two cats, Magic and Patches, and Clyde, a pit bull, said Norma Arbotast, who lives there.
Arbotast, who was in the house, said firefighters arrived within five minutes.
"The most important thing is that we're all OK," she said. "Everything else could be replaced."
