TEXAS -- A man [beat to death] his cousin's pit bull after it attacked his 12-year-old stepson Tuesday, Corpus Christi police said.
The man told police, he, the boy's mother and the boy drove up to a home in the 2500 block of Sacky Drive when the dog, without provocation, attacked the boy.
The man said the dog then went after a niece, who was able to escape. The man told police he grabbed a baseball bat to kill the pit bull and prevent other injuries.
The boy was taken to Christus Spohn Hospital Memorial with non life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police said there are no criminal charges filed at this time.
