WISCONSIN -- A German Shepherd on the loose in Germantown put people in fear, and forced police to shoot the animal.
Michael Guimond got a big scare when he got off the school bus Thursday afternoon.
"All I saw was it very wet and it looked like it was snarling," said Guimond. "I was in a way dumbfounded. I didn't know what was going on at all."

Police say the German Shepherd's owners took it to the vet Thursday morning after it started acting strangely. The dog bit the owners in the parking lot, and ran off, chasing and biting at cars along the way.
Horace Milligan heard about the dog running wild and made a point to pick his kids up at the bus stop. And it's a good thing he did.
"No sooner did I get the kids in the vehicle, here comes the German Shepherd," said Milligan.
Police say they tried just about everything to bring the dog in unharmed, with food and with the owner's help. By 4:30 p.m., they cornered the animal in a wooded area off Highway F. That's when the dog threatened an officer, who was forced to shoot it.
"Our sympathies do go out to the family and their loss but it's an unavoidable tragedy," said Germantown Police Lt. David Huesemann.
The two family members who were bitten were treated and released.
