MICHIGAN -- An investigation is underway after more than 50 dogs and cats were seized from a Montcalm County residence.
The animals were seized on Monday, in a home on S. Sheridan Rd. in Sheridan Township.
A neighbor told FOX 17 that multiple complaints had been made about the house and the condition of the animals. The neighbor said that the stench from the home was unbearable in summer, and the dogs would bark all hours of the night.
The situation was said to have been going on for months before the animals were removed.
Animal control currently has the animals and is inspecting their health.
No charges have been filed yet, the investigation is ongoing at this time. Michigan State Police are involved.
