Owner in court over dog attack

UNITED KINGDOM -- A MAN has appeared in court after his dog attacked a young boy and left him needing more than 100 stitches.

Daniel George Williams, 36, is charged with being the owner of a dog, allowing it to be dangerously out of control in a public place and causing injury.

He denies that on March 26 his bull mastiff was out of control at Llwyn Arosfa, Sketty.

The victim, Adam David Thomas, 11, was left needing surgery and 115 stitches to his arm. The incident is alleged to have happened outside Williams's garage, the court heard.

City magistrates declined jurisdiction.

They said the case would need to be dealt with at Swansea Crown Court on a future date.

Williams, of Carnglas Road, Sketty, was given unconditional bail by the court. He will next appear in front of Swansea magistrates on December 20.
