College Station officials looking for pit bull that bit woman

TEXAS -- College Station animal control officials are asking for the public's help in locating a pit bull that bit someone.

A woman was at the University Dog Park about 5 p.m. Tuesday when her dog was approached by a grayish-blue pit bull with a white chest and cropped ears that was wearing a brown leather collar with silver buttons, officials said.

The pit bull charged the woman's dog and started to fight. The pit bull bit the woman multiple times as she tried to separate the pair before the owner could get control of his dog, police said.

The owner of the pit bull was a black man in his early 20s with a medium build. He was wearing a bright blue shirt and dark jeans, police said.

Authorities need to locate the dog to rule out rabies exposure to the woman. When located, the dog will need to be observed for signs of rabies infection.

Anyone with information is asked to call 764-3600.
