According to an incident report, Charleston City Animal Services was sent to 78 Stuart Street around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10. Police say Tyrone Major was walking his two pit bulls, one of which was not on a leash.
Upon arriving, the Animal Services official told police he saw children running from Major and his two dogs.
After being asked to provide identification and to put his dog on a leash, the Animal Services official says Major took his shirt off and said, "I ain't afraid of you! I should pop you!"
The official then got in his car and called police.
The report states police arrived on the scene to see a shirtless Major breathing heavily and grunting. He was also staring at the Animal Services official and has his fist balled.
Police say Major was arrested and charged with threatening the life of a public official, because "I should pop you" is a common saying for shooting someone. He was also charged with animal non-restraint.
Major was taken to Charleston County Detention Center, and his dogs were handed over to a friend.
