In the first incident, a man was attacked in Chatsworth and admitted to the RK Khan Hospital, where he had surgery. Hospital spokeswoman Kamla Chetty said he was bitten on his arms and left leg.
“He could only recall that it was a big dog that attacked him,” Chetty said.

Janice Aucamp, a swimming coach, said she had opened her gates when she arrived home and was greeted by her dog, Sheeba.
On her heels was Honey, who came rushing out to greet her owner when she heard the car.
What Aucamp did not realise was that the neighbour’s gates had been left open and two dogs ran out.
The big male grabbed Honey, which took shelter under her car.
“One bite and she was dead. Honey did not even cry,” an emotional Aucamp said on Tuesday.
The incident was a “gross act of negligence”, Aucamp said.
However, the owner of the two dogs refused to give her name and denied negligence.
The woman said she was not at home at the time of the incident, but that her son and nephew had been cleaning the garage.
“My dogs are not murderers. They are guard dogs that are put out at night,” she said.
