OHIO -- The other afternoon, I was walking my eight-year-old dog when two Jack Russell Terrier’s attacked my dog.
One dog bit into her side and would not let go. The other dog bit her face and front legs. These dogs were vicious.
I kicked and whipped them with my leash. They finally let go.
A young woman got out of her car to help me. I had been yelling for help since the attack began. The owner of the dogs came out to say she was sorry. My dog and I sat in the middle of the road, rested, then I went home to report the attack to Shawnee Township Police.
The policeman said to call dog warden, they handle dog on dog attacks. I finally got a return call from the dog warden, who said nothing could be done because he had not personally seen the attack.
That is really what he said.
Shawnee Township advised me to get a lawyer.
This attack was so frightening. I now carry my phone and pepper spray when I walk in my neighborhood. If you walk your dog, be careful vicious dogs may attack your beloved pet. The Dog Warden does not protect dogs on leashes. Did you know that?
Neighbors do not pay vet bills after their dogs caused pain and suffering.
