Police to probe dog attack near Pen-y-Fro Primary School in Swansea

UNITED KINGDOM -- A parent who did not want to be named claimed to have seen the incident which involved a pit bull dog emerging from a property on Priors Crescent.

It is believed the dog attacked a German Shepherd which was being walked by its owner on the street.

The witness then claimed the dog attacked the German Shepherd’s owner and left puncture marks on his wrist.

She said: “I had come to collect my child from school. A white van pulled in behind me and parked in a drive way. The gates were open. The next minute the pit bull ran across the road.

“A man was walking up with a German Shepherd. The dog grabbed the German shepherd by the throat and then the man started yelling and shouting and tried to grab the pit bull.

“The pit bull latched on to the man’s wrist. The man was screaming for help to get the dog off. I ran out of my car, another mother also ran out of her car.

“We were kicking the dog to the head. The man was bleeding on the floor from his wrists. The owner got the dog and took it back in his house.

“We must have delivered more than a dozen blows.”

The anonymous parent said the incident occurred in front of crowds of children.

She called the police but confirmed emergency services were not in attendance.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: “We are investigating a dog attack which occurred at 3.30pm on Wednesday, November 7, in the Cefn Celyn area of Dunvant.

“The dog has been secured in a premises.”
