There also was a dead mixed breed dog, decomposing to the point of liquefying, in a kennel inside the home in the 1000 block of Camelot Manor, police said.
Crystal Camacho, 30, and her two children, a 1-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl, are listed as living at the same address.
A friend of Camacho told police she went with the three of them at about 1:20 p.m. Saturday to feed the family’s two dogs. When they arrived, they found Nancy Martin cold to the touch and breathing only faintly. The friend called for help for Martin while Camacho drove away, to avoid being arrested on a felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
Police said paramedics could not treat Martin inside because of the conditions of the home, so officers carried her to the ambulance. She was transported to the Portage hospital.
Police reached Camacho on her cell phone and convinced her to return to the trailer park. When she did, officers found her children both were bleeding from severe diaper rash. Police released the children to their paternal grandparents and directed them to take them to the hospital.
Camacho was arrested on two felony charges of neglect of a dependent and for misdemeanor animal cruelty, in addition to the warrant.
