Warrant service uncovers suspected animal abuse

PENNSYLVANIA -- A Menallen Township man was taken into custody on two outstanding warrants Wednesday by state constables but could be facing additional legal woes after state constables found a dog “clinging to life” outside the man's residence.

The animal later died.

A mixed breed dog was found malnourished and lying in the mud outside a
Menallen Township home by state constables on Wednesday. The dog was
taken to a local veterinarian for treatment, but later died, officials said.

State Constable Mark Pasquale said when he and Constable Phil Michael responded to the residence to serve a warrant for the arrest of Michael Little, they couldn't get a response while pounding on the door.

Pasquale said they proceeded to walk toward the rear of the home and that is when they discovered the mixed breed dog lying in a muddy impression along the flaking concrete foundation of the home.

“It was tied up and it was jerking and shaking and was very malnourished,” Pasquale said. “It was clinging to life.”
