COLORADO -- Three horses were rescued Monday from an over-turned trailer in Jefferson County.
The accident happened about noon in Deer Creek Canyon near the intersection of White Deer Drive and White Tail Lane, said Jacki Kelley, a Jefferson County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.
The trailer overturned on an icy, narrow road and the horses were tossed about the trailer in the accident.
Emergency responders, including members of Inter-Canyon Fire/Rescue, were able to free the horses from the mangled trailer without further incidence, Kelley said.
Kelley said the animals suffered bumps, bruises and cuts, but they should all be OK.
No one in the vehicle pulling the trailer was injured.
Kelley said: "It's a really good ending."
