Puppy mauled to death by dog in country park

UNITED KINGDOM -- A puppy was attacked and killed by another dog in the picnic area of Hastings Country Park.

The incident took place last Sunday (December 2) at around 3.45pm.

The miniature poodle puppy was on a lead and was approached by a dog described as possibly being a white boxer cross Staffordshire terrier which wasn’t on a lead.

The dog sniffed the puppy and then attacked it, grabbing it and throwing it around.

The puppy was rushed to the vet but sadly it died from its injuries.

Witnesses have said the attacking dog was being walked by a man who was aged in his 60s, with greying hair and was clean shaven. He is said to have driven off in a dark blue hatchback car.

PCSO James Armstrong said: “This incident was reported to us by Hastings Borough Council.

“We are keen to speak to the owner of the boxer cross dog and anyone with information about this. Contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 0849 of 7/12.”
