1/16/13: Woman, dog rescued from early morning fire

CANADA --Fire crews rescued an elderly woman and her dog following a 2-alarm blaze in North York early Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out on the fourth floor of an apartment building at 2415 Jane Street around 1:30 a.m.
The woman, believed to be in her 60s, suffered serious injuries as a result of the blaze.


The victim's dog suffered serious smoke inhalation and is now under the care of Toronto Animal Services.

Ontario Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
