$3,000 reward offered in horse slaughter case

FLORIDA -- Police are hoping to make an arrest in the slaughter of a South Florida horse and have raised the reward for information about this crime.

Marco, an 8-year-old thoroughbred and former racehorse, was found slaughtered last Saturday.

Officials said he was stolen from his stable in Southwest Ranches, then tied to a tree and butchered, most likely for his meat.

Crime Stoppers is now offering a $3,000 reward for information that can lead to an arrest. If you know anything, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
