WEST VIRGINIA -- More than 100 animals are a part of an animal cruelty investigation in Preston County.
Police said they took 61 chickens, 34 rabbits, seven dogs and five goats from a home on Silver Lake. The seizure is part of an ongoing investigation.
Police say they found eight dead rabbits and a dead dog when they visited the home near the Maryland border.
An initial police visit was Jan. 18; officers seized animals on Thursday.
Charges are pending against the owner, police said. The animals are currently being held at the Preston County Animal Shelter.
