VIRGINIA -- A dog bit a Woodbridge man and a police officer before an animal control officer detained it, Prince William County Police said.
A caller reported Dec. 31 at 9:18 p.m. that he had tried to hold down a potentially aggressive dog, when the 135-pound Great Dane-Mastiff mix bit him. The caller sustained minor injuries to his hand.
A Prince William County Police officer responded to the location and tried to detain the dog, when the dog bit the officer. The officer also sustained minor injuries on his hand.
Both the officer and the victim were taken to a hospital. An animal control officer subsequently detained the dog.
