36 Chihuahuas confiscated in Watsonville

CALIFORNIA -- Animal neglect charges could be filed against two Watsonville residents after authorities confiscated dozens of dogs.

Three dozen Chihuahuas, some of them only 2-weeks-old, were seized from two apartments in Watsonville. Officers confiscated 11 dogs on Monday at one apartment and 25 at another on Tuesday.

A landlord at the first unit alerted authorities after finding the dogs living in squalid conditions.

The dogs will be placed in foster care until owners can be found
