Man arrested on animal cruelty charges; one dog dead

MONTANA -- Cascade County Sheriff’s officers arrested a local man Monday on aggravated cruelty to animal charges.

William David Hill, who lives at 1111 Harrison St. in Sun Prairie, was arrested Monday morning at 10:15 a.m. after the sheriff’s office responded to a report just before 3 a.m. Monday that there were two badly beaten dogs at the residence.

Hill was not home when officers arrived.

One of the dogs died as investigating deputies examined the dogs’ conditions.

The surviving dog was taken to a local veterinarian for care and the deceased dog was taken as evidence, according to a Monday press release issued by the sheriff’s department.

Hill has been booked into the Cascade County Detention Facility for two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals. The bond is $2,000.
