Animal control officer captures loose pig

NORTH CAROLINA -- Residents in a quiet neighborhood in Greensboro, North Carolina were astounded this week when they spotted a giant pig roaming around.

Unsure of where the hog came from and uncertain of what to do with the animal intruder, neighbors called Guilford County Animal Control on Thursday around 4pm to help.

An officer who arrived at the scene managed to keep the pig contained and calm in a grassy area but his truck wasn't large enough to transport the massive animal.

Finally another animal control officer, E. Afari, arrived on the scene.

The fearless responder scooped up the pig and the animal belted out in a 'horrific, loud squeal' until the officer placed it in a cage in his truck, according to the News-Record.

A representative from Guilford County Animal Control told the MailOnline on Saturday that they didn't have any information about the status of the pig.

The Greensboro Police likewise didn't have information about what happened to the animal.

From the photo it appears that the animal could be a Large White Pig, possibly a Yorkshire pig.
