Dead cat found on 'makeshift operating table'

OREGON -- A 21-year-old woman in Milwaukie, Ore., has been arrested on charges of animal cruelty after police made a disturbing discovery in the house where she was residing, reported Friday's KGW News.

The suspected animal abuser, Ashley Fawn Guldager, was inside of the home where a gruesome scene, involving a dead cat and a makeshift operating table, was uncovered on Monday.

Sgt. Robert Wurpes of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office described the bizarre discovery:

The cat's body was reportedly strapped down to a table with jumper cables. A light hung from a bungee cord over the table. Also on the table were a wet sponge, scissors, a 12-inch straight-blade kitchen knife, a plastic razor, and a cigarette butt."

"The cat's body had been tampered with, including partial shaving of the body."

A necropsy on the nine-year-old cat, whose name was "Mama Kitty," revealed that she had died from asphyxiation.

The cat did not belong to Guldager, but rather, to a neighbor who stated that their cat had disappeared three days before.

The motive for the twisted act has not yet been determined, or revealed.

Guldager was arrested and is being held on $100,000 bail and the Clackamas County jail.
