Lima dog attack victim expected to recover

OHIO -- A Lima Police detective said he’s looking into who owns the two dogs that attacked a man Monday on the Lima Riverwalk.

The Allen County Dog Warden has a 2012 registry for two owners, but Detective Timothy Clark isn’t sure the names listed truly are the dog owners. The listed individuals could not be reached, Clark said.

Dominique Badea, 30, of Lima, remained in critical condition at St. Rita’s Medical Center on Tuesday. He was attacked by two Cane Corso dogs Monday morning. An officer said Badea suffered bites to both legs, both arms and his face.

A deputy with the Dog Warden fatally shot one of the dogs; the other dog remains quarantined at the dog pound.

Clark said Badea is expected to recover from his injuries.
