Sioux City man gets two days in jail for killing his dogs

IOWA -- It's two days in jail for a man, who shot and killed two dogs.

According to court documents, 51-year-old Jon Holloway has pleaded guilty to "reckless use of a firearm" and "discharging a firearm in the city limits."

Holloway also faced two counts of animal cruelty, but those charges were dismissed.

Police say Holloway ordered two muzzled dogs into separate kennels and then shot them with a rifle.

Holloway told police he thought the dogs were becoming aggressive.

A judge has ordered Holloway to serve two days in jail, and pay a fine plus court costs for the "reckless use of firearm" charge.

For the other charge, a judge ordered Holloway to pay $150, plus court costs.
