TENNESSEE -- A 24-year-old East Ridge woman was bitten on the mouth by a pit bull dog on Thursday.
An East Ridge Police Department press release said the dog was picked up by East Ridge Animal Control and reported the dog is up to date on its vaccinations.
East Ridge Police had responded to the report of the dog bite at 4305 Lazard St. where a woman, living across the street from dog owners, had been concerned that the pit bull was about to bite an employee of the water company.
The woman had put the dog back into a fenced area at the residence of its owners, but while walking away and along the fence, the dog had jumped up and bit her in the mouth, damaging her lip.
She was taken by ambulance to Erlanger Medical Center.
