K9 Unit Tracks Down Suspect, Later Attacked by Pit bull

TEXAS -- Police arrested a man after a drug bust late last night.

This happened in the 3500 block of North Naylor Circle around 10 p.m.

When police pulled up to the home, the suspect ran out the back door and hid under a house down the street.

A S.W.A.T team and county K-9 unit eventually found him.

Police told us this was part of an ongoing investigation. They found cocaine, a weapon, and cash.

When the K-9 unit went into the house for a final check, the homeowner's pit bull managed to get out of its cage and attacked the K-9. Police had to shoot the pit bull. The police dog is fine, but we do not know if the pit bull survived its injuries.

As of now, the suspect will be charged with manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance.
