TEXAS -- A San Antonio man claims his neighbor's dog terrorized the neighborhood and twice attacked his dog. So Eric Watson took his concerns to KENS 5, fearing neighborhood kids might soon get hurt.
His big question: Why hasn't Animal Care Services picked up the dog?
Since his home doubles as a day care, he said he wants the dog out of the neighborhood before anyone gets hurt.
His dog is recovering from an animal attack several weeks ago.
"My dog has a hole in his leg two inches deep," he said. "the pit bull breaks its chain and attacks my dog."
Watson said his neighbor's dog runs straight to his yard and goes after his boxer Camilo on his property, an area that is also a day care.
"People are worried," he said. "They see the day care, see dog attacks. They say, 'Why isn't the city picking up the dog?'"
"The only thing we're seeing is the dog has aggression towards dogs, not people," said Officer Jeanne Martinez with ACS.
Animal Care Services has been out to the neighborhood twice, but because the dog attacked another dog and not a person, ACS can't take the dog away if it's already back inside its property.
"Am I supposed to wait until my daughter is attacked?" Watson asked.
KENS 5 spoke to the dog's owner late Thursday. She said she turned her dog in to ACS on Tuesday.
KENS 5 is working to confirm this with ACS.
