Puppies and Kitties and Ponies...Oh My!

ILLINOIS -- Chicago Police contacted us yesterday after they were notified of a stray pony wandering the streets of the city.

Animal Welfare League is always fully prepared to handle a pony, or any other animal, at a moments notice.

 

 Police were able to lead the pony onto the back of a pick-up truck in order to transport it here. One of the officers even rode in the back with him to make sure he would be safe!

The pony, named Trigger at the shelter, will receive top-notch care at AWL until he goes to a farm rescue and sanctuary.

In the meantime, Animal Welfare League is seeking donations to help make sure that Trigger receives the appropriate vaccinations and any medical care he may need while he is with us at the shelter.
