Woman sentenced in animal cruelty case

GEORGIA -- A south Georgia woman, Rebecca Bannister, now learning her fate, sentenced in an animal cruelty case.


This after investigators say they found dozens of malnourished and neglected animals in her care.

As part of her sentence she's been ordered to release ownership of 32 horses, two llamas, two calves, and two miniature horses. She is to turn the paper work over to Dancing Cloud Farm Horse Rescue, where the animals have been recovering.


She's also has been ordered to pay $12,000 in restitution to the county.

The judge in Thomas County also said she is not allowed to own any pets during her two year probation except for the five horses she has in Alabama.
