MISSISSIPPI -- Authorities say a 3-year-old child was hospitalized over the weekend after being attacked by a dog.
Covington County Sheriff's Deputy Michael Kelly tells WDAM-TV that the attack occurred in the town of Mount Olive in Covington County on Saturday.
The child was listed in stable condition.
Kelly says the dog was a pit bull breed. It was euthanized. An autopsy will be conducted of the animal to test for any diseases.
