Animal Control Fail: Pit bull mauls people after mauling man and his Golden Retriever 7 months ago

Elderly Man Mauled By Pit Bull In Murrieta

CALIFORNIA -- Two men, including an 80-year-old man, were mauled Friday by a pit bull mix in Murrieta.

The first attacked happened around 8:50 a.m. in the 39000 block of Salinas Drive.

An air-conditioning repairman was mauled first before the canine went after his owner’s elderly father.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene and shot the dog at least two times before he ran off.

The elderly man had been bit in the stomach, twice in the arm puncturing arteries and the back of his knees. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The condition of the repairman was unknown.

Neighbors say the same dog attacked another man and his dog on Nov. 20, 2012.

The dog’s owner, whose identity was not released, signed a consent form to have the canine euthanized.
