Firefighters rescue baby deer from busy road

GEORGIA -- Forsyth County firefighters helped save a baby deer from a busy road.

Fire Chief Jason Shivers said firefighters saw the fawn along McFarland Road on Monday, so they took her to Station 14.

The firefighters gave her diluted goat’s milk and water overnight before finding a permanent home for her at the North Georgia Zoo and Petting Farm in White County.

Shivers said other firefighters reported seeing a dead doe along the same stretch of road a few days prior, and it is likely she was the mother.

Firefighters think the fawn was about a week old
