Llama on the Loose on Bannerman Road

FLORIDA -- Deputies have been chasing down a lose llama since 11:00 p.m. Friday night.

According to the deputies, the llama got away from it's owner's home and has been roaming around town all night.

This morning, deputies cornered the 6 foot tall llama on Bannerman Road near Thomasville Rd.



The llama spit several times and trampled the deputies as they attempted to get it into a trailer. The deputies then had to taze the giant in order to subdue him.

Traffic is backed up on both lanes of Bannerman Rd however the road is now open.

Deputies say that it is legal for someone to own a llama as a pet in the state of Florida.
