Police looking for dog that bit man on Madison's east side

WISCONSIN -- The Department of Public Health is looking for information regarding a dog that bit a man on Friday, according to a release.

Officials said the incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. at Droster Park on Kalas Street on Madison’s east side.

The man was trying to stop the dog from attacking his dog when the dog bit him, according to the release.

The dog is described as a black lab wearing a orange collar and was with a second black lab at the time of the incident, according to the release.

Police ask anyone having information regarding the incident to call 255-2345 and ask for the animal services officer.

Officials said if the animal is not located, the victim may be required to complete a series of painful and costly injections to prevent rabies.
