VIRGINIA -- Recent storms brought flash flooding to areas of western Virginia.
Many lives were endangered, and one man risked his to save a floating deer.
Leon Bailey rescued a fawn that got swept up in the floodwater Wednesday. He was in his vehicle when he say the doe float past. He jumped out to grab the doe, and lost his car in the process.
But he thinks it was worth it.
Animal control picked her up. The plan is to keep her at an animal wildlife rehabilitation center in Hanging Rock. They have hopes of reintroducing her into a new herd with a new mother sometime in the near future.
