The boy's grandmother said he was sitting on the floor eating a sandwich when the dog walked over and began attacking him.
His family stepped in to help. By the time they separated the two, the boy had a gash in his head and a hole in his lip.
They say it's not the first time the dog's been aggressive.
The boy's grandmother says she wants the dog gone.
"You can't protect your kids. Kids are going to play with the dog," said the boy's grandmother, Carolyn Doll. "The dog is old, he's irritable, he's got arthritis, of course he's going to attack when the kids play with him."
