MASSACHUSETTS -- At 5:02 p.m. on July 31st, police checked in with a Main Street residence on a report of a past dog attack.
Police spoke to the mother of the child who had reportedly been attacked by the family pit bull. The woman said the dog, a 2-year-old, pit bull, was currently at her ex-husband’s house.
Police spoke to the child who said that on Sunday, July 28 he bent down to give the dog a kiss and it bit his face. The child required 60-80 stiches from the attack.
The child also said the dog had bit him on the arm last February when he bent over to take a bone away and that attack left scars on his arm.
The mother said she didn’t want the dog in her home anymore but had a friend who would take it.
Police said they were going to quarantine the animal for 10 days to assess its aggression level.
