TENNESSEE -- An elderly Oak Ridge man and his daughter are facing animal cruelty charges, after officers found several dead animals inside a home.
56-year-old Annette Wright and 90-year-old Hillman Nelson Wright are charged with nine misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals.
Officers found the remains of six dogs and two birds inside a home on Marietta Circle last week.
According to court documents, Helming Wright told police that his daughter lived in the home before she moved in with him in February 2011, after she had ankle surgery.
Police say both suspects knew the animals were locked inside the home for months without food, water or care.
They're set to appear in court on August 19th.
