NORTH CAROLINA -- A Lexington women has been indicted on four counts of felony animal cruelty.
Katie Diane Lindsey, 28, of 113 Melrose Drive, was issued a true bill of indictment for the 2012 death of a dog and depriving three other dogs.
Arrest warrants filed in the Davidson County Clerk of Court’s Office state Lindsey and another woman failed to provide medical assistance to a young black puppy after having the dog’s condition brought to their attention over the course of at least three days. Failing to get the dog medical assistance caused its death, according to arrest warrants.
Court records stated Lindsey also failed to provide food, water and medical assistance to a white boxer, brown/white puppy and a pit bull. The three dogs were treated through the Humane Society of Davidson County’s Ginger’s Fund. The fund was set up to assist the Lexington Police Department with treating malnourished and neglected dogs that have been seized.
Lindsey was given an unsecured bond of $5,000 and has a Superior Court date of Sept. 9.
